Workshop FAQ

Who should attend a workshop?

Anyone can attend a workshop. If you are Pregnant, or Expecting a baby, Adopting a baby, Fostering a baby, Already have a baby or toddler you are welcome to attend a workshop. Couples, Grandparents, Daycare Staff, Midwives, health professionals are all welcome but there is only one pack of nappies per household for each child. If you have twins, you are entitled to one pack per baby.

If you have a baby already, I would suggest the Daytime workshops if they are available as there are normally more mums and babies at these. Where as at the night workshops there are generally more couples or first time parents with newborn babies.

Grandmas / nanas are welcome to attend on behalf of their daughter or daughter in law or may be caring for their grandchildren in their home at times so they may choose to attend to get their own pack or attend as a support person.

What is the difference between a couple and an individual ticket?

This is generally used to work out how many people are coming because some of the venues have a limited space. If the price for a couple is the same as an individual then if is just to count how many people but if there is a price difference it will be because there is a small supper or morning tea provided.

What will you learn?

It is not just about nappies. It is more of a waste free parenting course with an hour on nappies. You will learn about waste minimisation in the home as well. The best news... you will get to take home a trial pack for free from me and my sponsors and your local council! Please note it is a 2.5 hour workshop.

What time do we need to arrive?

The workshop is set to start at the time advertised on the ticket or website page. To ensure the smooth running of the workshop and to make sure we start and finish on time, please arrive around 20 minutes before the scheduled start time. Prior to the workshop starting, I have to register everyone and hand out your trial packs so if people arrive late, that will mean I end up starting late and finishing late.

Can I bring my baby?

You are welcome to bring along your baby to the workshop. But please be mindful if they are crying or upset that there are a lot of other people at the workshop so you will need to take them out and settle them and then come back in.

If you are bringing along a baby over 6 months old or a toddler please make sure you have some quiet toys available to entertain them. However, if possible, you will get more out of the session if you are able to arrange a baby sitter and attend on your own. This is especially the case for night workshops as your baby may be quite tired and the workshop is 2.5 hours long so it can make it a late night for them. If possible, attend a daytime workshop where there are normally more mums with babies in attendance.

For Health and Safety reason, you are responsible for your child while at the workshop venue. We take no responsibility for the safety of your child.

Can I come to another workshop if I have already attended one?

The workshop content changes all of the time. Sometimes if there are still spaces left close to the time of the workshop, the council is happy for those who have already attended to come again and get another pack, if it is not ok it will say on the workshops page.

Some councils are happy for you to attend more than once as every nappy that is being used is another nappy that is not going to landfill.

What comes in the Free Trial Packs?

A variety of products that have been sourced or sponsored in relation to the workshop. Packs vary from workshop to workshop.

Tickets and Refunds

Please note that all ticket sales are final.
We will not personally refund any ticket purchase but if you paid by visa on Eventfinda, you may request a refund prior to the event if you go through Eventfinda. Eventfinda have a refund process so you can request a refund from them but they do charge a fee. We understand that sometimes if you are pregnant or have kids something may happen that could cause you to miss the workshop. You can transfer your ticket once to a future workshop or gift it to a friend but we do not refund ticket purchases. Please note that you can only transfer your ticket once as it is very time consuming.

There is only one pack of nappies per person or couple. i.e a couple cannot pay for two tickets to get two packs of nappies. If you don't attend the workshop you cannot get someone else to collect your nappies.

When you purchase a ticket you are paying to attend the workshop, not the purchase of the pack. You get a gift pack because you attended the workshop. If you do not attend the workshop you cannot collect the pack. But you can come to a future workshop and get the pack then. For Waste Free Parenting Week, all ticket sales are final. There are no refunds and you cannot transfer this ticket to a council workshop as it is a one off promotional sponsored event and has a different cost.
